You have the ability to private message other members in the forum. Depending on your permission level in the forum you might see  different options. In a post, to the left is the person’s avatar and for some of you, beneath the picture there will be icons, one of which is an envelope. If you click on it, it will open a page/window where you can send a private message to that person.

Or, if you do not see any icons,  you can just click on their picture and it will take you to their profile page where you can click on SEND A MESSAGE.

What about when you receive a private message?

When you log in, a bubble will appear near your login that will tell you you have a private message. You might also receive an email telling you you have received a private message. OR you can just click on MY PROFILE in the forum navigational bar. It will open up a page with options to see and send private messages,  delete, add others to the conversation…
