Tonight, while contemplating Helen’s Notes: Dialogues with Jesus (this is a book of the original notes and dialogues with Jesus that became the first eight chapters of ACIM), something that has felt very accurate over the years was described by Jesus in the book. What he talks about is how we must engage with each other, not just choose a path of solitary meditation to awaken from the dream. This is what he says on page 192, last paragraph:
“Your giant step forward was to insist on a collaborative venture.* This does not go against the true spirit of meditation at all. It is inherent in it. Meditation is a collaborative venture with God. It cannot be undertaken successfully by those who disengage themselves from the Sonship, because they are disengaging themselves from Me. God will come to you only as you will give Him to your brothers. Learn first of them, and you will be…”
* This refers to the collaboration between Helen Schucman and William Thetford in bringing forth ACIM.
